When a botched robbery puts their mother behind bars, two sisters raised by crime must decide who to trust as they fight to survive on their own terms.
- Written, Directed, & Edited by Sam K. Pittman -
-Synopsis-
Set in Montgomery County, Indiana, Kevlar Soul follows sisters Charlie and Samantha Becker, raised under a mother who believed survival was earned, not given. After Charlie commits her first robbery, their lives shift when their mother Jean is arrested during another job, leaving the sisters alone in a world built on risk and leverage.
Instead of backing away from the life they were raised in, Charlie and Samantha step deeper into it, determined to earn their own place and prove they can operate without anyone’s help. They set their sights on a bank heist … a score big enough to secure real power and shape their future on their own terms.
Along the way, they cross paths with Chloe Emerson, who wants in on the job. Samantha believes she can be trusted. Charlie doesn’t. Chloe becomes a fault line in their partnership, raising the stakes and forcing every decision to carry permanent weight. Law enforcement attention builds, exposure risk grows, and loyalty becomes the only thing keeping the Becker sisters from collapse or from turning on each other.
For Charlie and Samantha, the question isn’t whether they’re capable. The question is what their ambition will cost, and who will still be standing when the score hits.

-Director's Statement-
"Kevlar Soul is a film about loyalty. The kind that keeps people alive and the kind that slowly destroys them. Charlie and Samantha didn’t grow up with comfort or much guidance. They grew up with rules: stay sharp, don’t break, never trust the system, and above all protect family. Crime wasn’t rebellion, it’s survival … it’s what they were taught.
I was drawn to this story because not everyone grows up with choices. Some people inherit struggle instead of safety. Some people are handed consequences before they’re ever given a chance. This film is for people who live in the gray areas, who have to fight just to stay afloat, who carry scars they didn’t ask for.
Charlie and Samantha aren’t chasing danger, they’re chasing respect. They want to be seen as more than what they come from. Their real fear isn’t getting arrested. Their real fear is becoming copies of the people who raised them. Crime is just the environment. They’re the story. Their love for each other is both their protection and their curse.
Kevlar Soul is gritty but honest, heavy but human. It carries bruises, but it still has a pulse. Beneath the tension and survival, this is a story about love … the dangerous kind, the unbreakable kind. The kind you carry even when it hurts. That’s what Kevlar Soul means to me".
